What We Hear From Patients Every Week
If a few of these felt familiar, you are not alone. A smile makeover starts by naming what you would change.
What Another Year of Waiting Looks Like
Milestones Come and Go
Weddings, reunions, and graduations arrive whether or not your smile feels ready.
Confidence Stays on Hold
Another year of guarded smiles keeps the habit in place a little longer.
Small Issues Grow Larger
Minor chips and stains rarely improve on their own, and treatment grows more involved.
Photos Keep Getting Deleted
The pictures your family wants to keep are the ones you quietly remove.
Treatment Takes Longer Later
More extensive changes usually mean more visits than a simpler plan started sooner.
Habits Become Automatic
Covering your mouth stops feeling like a choice and starts feeling normal.
Starting sooner usually means a simpler plan and results you enjoy longer.
What a Smile Makeover Actually Involves
A smile makeover is not one procedure. It is a coordinated plan that combines two or more cosmetic treatments to address the color, shape, size, and spacing of your teeth together. Depending on your goals, that plan might include teeth whitening, veneers (thin porcelain coverings), crowns, or dental bonding (tooth-colored resin repairs). Treatments are sequenced so the finished smile looks balanced rather than assembled piece by piece.
Planning matters more than any single treatment, which is why our team at White Sage Dentistry begins with digital scans, DSLR photography, and a full look at your bite before anything is recommended. Every smile makeover in Salem, Oregon starts as a visual plan you review with us, so the design reflects your face and your preferences.

What to Expect During Your Smile Makeover
Consultation and Photos
You talk through what bothers you and what you want changed, in your own words. We take digital photos with our DSLR camera, capture a three-dimensional scan of your teeth and bite, and review your gum and bone health. By the end of the visit, you have a clear picture of your starting point and what is realistic from here.
Smile Design
Your images become a visual plan. We map out color, shape, length, and proportion so the design suits your face rather than a stock template. You see the proposed result and tell us what to adjust before any treatment is scheduled. Nothing moves forward until it looks right to you.
Preparation
Once the design is approved, we prepare the teeth included in your plan. Depending on your treatment, that may mean a light reshaping of enamel or removing older restorations. The area is numbed first, and most patients describe pressure rather than anything sharp. Temporaries let you live with the new shape while your restorations are made.
Placement
Your custom restorations arrive from the lab, and we check color, fit, and bite before anything is bonded. Small refinements happen chairside while you watch and give feedback. Once everything sits comfortably, we secure each piece and polish the surfaces. You leave with the smile you signed off on.
Final Review
A short follow-up confirms your bite feels natural after you have eaten and spoken normally for a few days. We polish, adjust, and answer anything that has come up since. If whitening touch-ups or a night guard are part of keeping your results looking their best, we set that up now.

Life After Your Smile Makeover
First 24-48 Hours
Mild sensitivity to hot and cold is common and usually fades quickly. Your gums may feel slightly tender where they were worked on, which over-the-counter pain relief handles well. Soft foods and lukewarm drinks make the first day easier, and most patients return to work the next morning.
First Week
Speech settles within a few days as your tongue adapts to the new shape of your teeth. Chewing feels more natural by the end of the week, and any tenderness continues to fade. This is a good time to notice how your bite feels so we can fine-tune it.
